Swamp Creatures - one of the joys of summer!

We went to play with our friends Erik, Jennifer Brooke and Camryn the other night. The little girls (Camryn and Hannah) enjoyed the swings most of the evening but Brooke and Madeline tranformed into Swamp Creatures. I wish I had video of them because the pictures just don't do justice to how very caked in mud they were. If I can snag the pics that we took on Jennifer's camera, I'll add them to this post (my batteries ran out before they really got good and muddy).

NOTE Madeline's expressions in these pics. She totally loves getting into character! I think I'm going to encourage her toward drama. She is so hillarious!

They screeched through a cold hose down in their panties and then enjoyed a nice warm bubble bath. It was a night enjoyed by all!

Our sweeties

I sort of hate to post recent stuff here and then backtrack to the past couple of months later, but these pics and videos are so cute, I've just got to put them up. Hannah has grown up a lot in recent months. She still looks so much like Madeline did at this age. She will be 2 on June 15th - I can hardly believe it. Enjoy!

Hannah likes to have Madeline get in bed with her when she's through napping. This is a picture I snapped of them snuggling in Hannah's crib a couple of weeks ago.

Madeline and Chris made this "robot" this week. Madeline was very proud - look at that beautiful smile! That robot is nearly as tall as her!! Elli - do you recognize these PJs? Madeline wears them often and thinks of you!!

My attempt at a photo shoot for Hannah - notice the glowing fingers in the corner of the pic? That's me saying "ok, ok now stay there!!!"

Hannah picked out this hat while shopping with her Aunts one day and she wore it through the entire store. I, however, could only get her to wear it for about 15 seconds. Just long enough for a cute picture!

I just can't believe how my baby has grown up! She looks like a little girl instead of a toddler. Isn't she beautiful?!

Madeline is such a sweet big sister. She was teaching Hannah how to say "peanut butter and jelly sandwich". Now you get to see a bit of Hannah's personality :) She's such a cutie!

Mi Vida Loca...

In High School, Mi Vida Loca (by Pam Tillis) was a fave of my best friends and I. Now I feel like I'm living the crazy life! Our lives have been a whirlwind and I'm terribly behind on blogging. Watch out everyone, when I start to catch up there will probably be multiple posts at once!

For the most recent news...we've been fast and furiously fixing up our house since Chris got home from Russia. We've stripped wallpaper, textured walls, painted more than I'd like to admit, replaced doors, decluttered and boxed up lots of "stuff". Last Wednesday our cutie home of 10 years was officially listed for sale! We are excited, frazzled, uncertain, waiting, attempting to be patient. We will be staying in the Tulsa area but we're hoping to move closer to our friends, church and work. Currently, we live about 20-30 mins from everywhere we frequent.

Selling our home has conjured some unexpected emotions. We've lived in the confines of 1,144 sq feet, sharing one bathroom, for 10 years and we always thought that we'd be nothing short of overjoyed with the thought of moving on to more space. But goodness, so many of our family memories are wrapped up in this place. Chris purchased our home 1 month before he married me. Initially, I felt like we were "playing house" ... cooking together, decorating together, making memories together. But now, we've welcomed both of our sweet girls home in this house, we've painted it colors that suit us, we've tumbled all over the living room together, we've entertained friends and family here. The thought of leaving is definitely bittersweet.

We'll see what happens...we've got an open house tomorrow from 1-3 and one next Sunday from 1-3. We absolutely love our real estate team (www.lauragrunewald.com) We hope that we'll be able to secure contracts and close on a new place by mid July so we can be settled in with a permanent address before Madeline starts Kindergarten!

I'll attempt to keep you updated on new events as I catch you up on the growing the girls have been doing.
