My Little Dollhouse

There is an amazing party place for girls in Jenks, OK called My Little Dollhouse. Jennifer and Brooke treated Madeline to a play date there for her birthday present and the girls had a great time. They got all dolled up in princess dresses and had their nails, make up and hair done by cinderella. They played games and put on a fashion show. Here are some pics and a video of Madeline doing the silliest dance I've ever seen her do - I don't know where she gets these things :)

Lauren Crawley, my dear friend...

For the past 2 years, I've been a D-Group leader for an amazing group of high school girls at my church. They are juniors this year, all getting their licences, turning 17, looking forward to college, learning how to live out their faith in the midst of the excitement and temptation of teenaged life. And I love them dearly. They encourage me more than I could ever hope to do for them.

On Monday February 11th, one of my precious girls died in a car accident. Lauren Michelle Crawley was going to be 17 in March. She was a girl who I can honestly say was fully ALIVE. She was radiant, always making people laugh, loving people through hugs and humor. I will miss her. I'd like to ask anyone reading this to please be praying for her parents - Scott and Alycia Crawley - and her brothers - Jordan and Jonathan Crawley - as well as for our youth group and our church as a whole. The Crawley family is one of enourmous faith and they have continued to find their delight and rest in our God, in spite of this tragic time.

My life will never be the same, and I'm glad for that. I want my life to always bear a reflection of Lauren. Her memorial service on Wednesday night and funeral on Valentine's day were so uplifting and refreshing. Her brother Jordan led worship for us all week in the youth and also at her funeral. Lauren had told one of her best friends, Kathryn, that she wanted her funeral to be a party and that's what she got. It was absolutely a celebration of her life. Our grief is filled with hope that we'll see her again and that she is now, in this moment, beholding the beautiful face of Jesus and safe in the Lord's warm arms; dancing and singing praises with her amazing voice. I am able to look forward to the day that I'm taken to Heaven! Although the thought can be somewhat frightening because there is so much unknown about it, I know that because I've trusted Jesus with my life and with my soul and because I believe that He did come as a complete sacrifice for my sins, I will be in Heaven and I WILL be greeted by my mom and by Lauren and many other loved ones who share the faith that I have.

I don't mean this blog to exclude anyone who may read it and have beliefs other than mine. I always encourage people to seek the truth for themselves. Pray and read and ask questions - I believe you'll find what you're looking for! Please don't live a life that is uncertain - I love you all much too much for that :)

7 months

We had Hannah's well baby check 2 weeks ago - it was supposed to be her 6 month appt but she was actually 7 months before they could get her in. She weighed 17 lbs 9 oz and is 27 inches tall. So she was at the 75th % for height and 50th% for weight. She is so lovely, just like her big sis. We had her pediatrician pierce her ears at the appointment so I wanted to post some pics of her and Madeline for you. For those of you who knew Madeline as a baby, Hannah will probably spark a sense of deja vu. Love you guys!

Christmas with Papa

Since my dad was sick at Christmas, we took a trip to his house to celebrate Christmas a couple a weeks ago. It was a great visit. Chrissy came in town, we opened gifts and went to dinner at Rib Crib. Here are a few pictures of our time there and some other pictures of the girls over the last couple of weeks.

For those of you who know Manda, she is engaged now!! She and Cody are planning to get married in January 2009! Yay! We love him and are so happy that they've found each other.

Christmas 2007

Hannah opening her first Christmas present! Santa filled Madeline's wishes and brought her a baby doll. Now she has requested that we get a "blue sucker to suck out the baby's nose" (you can guess what we've been doing a lot of at our house lately!) Chrissy bought Chris 3 packages of freeze dried astronaut ice cream.


We had a wonderful Christmas, in spite of rampant illness in the family. The plan was that Chrissy, my dad and my dad's friend Nancy would come to our home the night before Christmas Eve. We made arrangements for Santa to come one day early so we could open presents on Christmas Eve morning. Well, Dad ended up with a stomach virus and had to stay home. Chrissy got the same virus the same night at our house and both were sick all night. At the same time in Arkansas, 1 1/2 hours away, Chris' sister Becca, his sister Manda's fiance Cody and our nephew all came down with the same virus! Never the less, Santa came to our home and we had a nice morning. We had a small Christmas Eve meal, delivered cookies to several of our neighbors and took the girls for a late night drive to look at Christmas lights. On Christmas morning, we drove to my mother in law's home and everyone was relatively healthy by that point. We opened gifts with them and had a wonderful meal. I discovered that I've got an addiction to Rock Band - I can't put the guitar down once I get started!! Here are some pics of our events. I'm so sad to say that we didn't catch pics of our time at our mother in law's house. We were so busy participating in the fun that we didn't think to pick up the camera...

International Children's Library

Hey all, I posted a list of links to some of our favorite websites (see Left). Madeline likes to get on the computer with us to play games and listen to online stories. Recently, I found a website with tons of children's books online "International Childen's Digital Library". You can search for books by age, type of character, etc. We like to visit this site when we're tired of the books we've read at home and aren't able to get to the library. Enjoy!! Jen
